解釋一：強調某物在另一物的垂直正上方，且兩者沒有接觸
An apple hangs over me.
有一顆蘋果懸掛在我的正上方。
There’s a bridge over the river.
河上有座橋。
解釋二：某物在上方移動而越過另一物
A plane flew over the house.
一架飛機從房子上方飛過。
解釋三：某物在上方覆蓋、遮蔽、壟罩住另一物
My dad built a roof over the courtyard.
我爸爸為庭院建了一個頂棚。
The sun shone over the valley.
陽光照耀整座山谷。

解釋一：指某物高於另一物，但不一定位於垂直正上方，且兩者沒有接觸
